My auto is a 2003 Chev. Trailblazer ext. two wheel drive. when i accelerate from a stop it sound like my transmission whines before shifting up. At this times rpm is appx 2.000. This does not happens every time and runs well after shifting to 2nd or 3rd gear. It sounds like the fan clutch could be the culprit or even a tensioner. Any thoughts?

My bet is the fan clutch is at fault. It is a fairly common problem on those. The problem is you can not test the performance of the fan clutch without a GM scan tool. You may be able to get the code read at autozone for free.If you have a fan code replace it.It works every time for me.
