what is the plug on top of fuel tank on 2000

on the rear of the fuel tank on 2000 escalade near the inlet   hose theres a sensor need to know what its called i ve put new pump it run for a while then stoped i unpluged the rear sensor it runs again . theres a problem

need to know what it is so i can replace thanks
