Can the hydromatic transimisson out of a 1960 Cadilliac be used in a 1960 Pontiac catalina with a 389 engine without a whole lot of modifications?

back then most gm trannys were interchangeable

If the caddy had a 350 in it i would say definatley yes

I have a 389 engine in the pontiac... do you think the 350 caddy engine has the same mounting bolts etc.??? I havent seen it yet because it is in another town but the price is right if it will fit. My linkage is all on the drivers side if the pontiac.

Yes i believe all will be the same the linkige is on the same side

The only thing that should be different are the mounts themselves that is the tranny mount
