I have a 1986 Komfort RV built on a heavy duty GM chassis. The backup lights don't work and the fuse and bulbs look OK. I suspect the steering column harness but don't have the schematic. Any ideas?

Thanks.

its a pretty basic system if it still has the gm column shifter then the switch is mounted down on column at floor board it is both a nuetral safety and a back up light switch. be aware on the motorhome its not uncommon for there to be fuses on the GM chassis side and the coach side. I would check for voltage into and out of the switch and is that is all ok the go back to the lamp fixtures I usually find problem back there either bad ground, bad connection or corrison. check for voltage at lt green wire if that is still the correct color on coach side and if you have it there then either you have a bad ground or socket/ corrison problem. below is a basic wiring diagram for that age GM chassis

Your basic wiring diagram didn't come through for some reason. I would appreciate it if you could just email it to me.

Thanks,
Claudio
