II have a 1993 GMC 1500 PU with a new GM crate engine installed (,<5000 miles). New injectors... New Idle control unit... New throttle position sensor… new plugs… distributor cap , rotor, plug wires… New ECM… All this and I still have a rough idle. What do you suggest? have a 1993 GMC 1500 PU with a new GM crate engin installed (,<5000 miles). New injectors... New Idle control unit... New throutle position sensor

Just a very rough idle, but will drive good.

I have had similar problems with them. It turned to be the shaft inside the distributor. They a lot of times will look like there are some cracks in them but you will want to make sure that some of the little points on the reluctor did not loose any magnetism.

The only way to find that out is to take the shaft out of the distributor and check each one for magnetism. Short of replacing the whole distributor.
