The drain back hole in the head gasket is too small. This causes a pooling of oil in the head which gets drawn into the combustion chamber. Engines with this problem often burn a quart of oil in under 50 miles.
Compare an identical headgasket which was used during assembly with the one removed from the vehicle. If the drain ports in the gasket are not the same as the original headgasket, replace the headgasket with the correct one.
You might be able to just punch out the hole without replacing the gasket.
