What is causing my 1994 Geo Metro to suddenly turn off while driving? It is a 5 speed 3cylinder engine. My battery and alternator are good & I have oil, water and gas. It starts to jerk and when I engage my clutch, my rpms drop to zero immediately. It will usually start right back up,and then go away. Yesterday it did this several times, and when I pushed on the gas after this had been going on for about a mile, my rpms wouldn't even go up, as if it wasn't getting gas, or had lost compression. Then it wouldn't even start again it just turned over. It has never over heated, it has 175,000 miles and has always been reliable until yesterday.
