I need some help from the group. I own a 1992 Geo Metro 5spd manual, hatchback. The frame is totally gone underneath, but it has a new motor. I purchased a 1996 Geo Metro LSI with good Body, but blown motor. The motor runs, but NO power and lots of banging.

Question, can I swap engine and transmission from car to car, even though one is a 1996 with they started the electronic OBII stuff? I am not knowledgeable of engines and my neighbor and I will attempt to swap engines and transmissions tomorrow. Can someone tell me if that will work? They are both 1.0 liter engines.
