87 cad cimarron During operation eng. shuts dwn. w/o warning.Could be going 70mph or 7mph.Eng w/not restrt for 2-20min.Upon restrt vehicle runs fine for 200yds-2mi.May run up to 5mi.first strt of the day.Last time it shut dwn I check for spark and found none.What is malfunctioning?

I have only seen 2 parts fail like this and then "fix" themselves. A crank sensor or an ignition module. I would do the crank sensor first since they are cheaper and easier, there really isn't a good test for either one other than swapping them.
