There are 2 ways. the one I like requires a 1/2" impact gun. I put a dep socket on it and keep bursting the trigger and it will work off. The other way is with a box wrench and the special socket that fits the top if the shock stem. You can hold the stem with that special socket and turn the nut with a box wrench.

Well, that leaves you basically one option, cut it off with the torch or a cut off wheel. They make a tool called a "nut cracker" that actually splits the nut. That may help you also.

I don't have torch and can't get cut wheel or nut splitter down in there.It's about six or seven inches down inside there.

well after lisensning to your cominints on everything i had allready tryed i went ahead and toot a grinder and cut upper a arm to get the room to cut nut off and replace shock!!
