1989 chevy blazer transmission and 1995 camaro engine

MY 1989 CHEVY S- 10 BLAZER ONLY GOES UP TO THIRD GEAR DO I NEED INTIRE TRANSMISSION REBUILT? I have a 1995 camaro v6 3.4 liter and want to put a rebuilt engine in, can I upgrade to a v-8? or to a v6 3.8. i want a engine with performance but for street as well.

The transmission needs to be looked at by a trans shop for more specific info and no, you can't just change engine types or sizes. The computer and all the wiring was engineered for a specifc engine with specific accessories and controls and it just won't work if all of it doesn't match up.

 There would be a tremendous amount of modifications to make both electrical and mechanical at a cost that would make it cheaper and easier to just buy one that already has a V8. Even the suspension and braking is different with the larger engine.
