Working on a 97grandam 2.4L. When trying to start motor sounds like it is out of timing but I checked the timing and it is OK. I changed the fuel filter and tried to crank the engine will crank but runs rough and will cut off if you do not hold the gas pedal way down. Not sure if it could be the crank sensor (cant find location) or the coil pack. Any suggestions Thanks Mark.....

Did you check the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line for gas? There isn't supposed to be any. Also this engine commonly has slipped and broken timing chains
