i have a fail code on my smog check of p1441 on a 97 pontiac grand am...how do i fix it...and what is the part needed?

  That code is for Evaporative Emision system leak during non purge stage.

  I would look at the purge soleniod (maybe stuck open) also the purge valve (leaking diaphram)
