96 S-10 Blazer Vortec 4.3 FI just died suddenly while driving would not jump start. Replaced battery. Had coil and ECM tested OK. Replaced timing set 6 mos. earlier. Trys to start. Replaced fuel filter. Fuse? Relay? Air in system? What?

The distributor was replaced 2 yrs ago. This summer new timing set, cap, rotor, plugs & wires.It shoots fuel out of the fuel release valve on the rail. Do not have access to a pressure tester. Sprayed ether in the intake. Backfired so hard & loud, truck shook & neighbors came out to see what blew up. Will not start.

you really should test fuel pressure...if it is too low it will not start,it sounds like way too much starting fluid,it is not good for motor because it is being sprayed into air intake and will do damage to sensors. the vehicle has just one injector supplying all 6 cylinders it is called a spyder under the intake manifold. check fuel pressure.

 Okay, fuel pressure is critical on your truck. So let us know the results.  

And rick, did you ever make it above freezing today.. still -12 here.

 I agree with Jon50 fuel pressure is critical on 4.3 vtec engines WOW IT'S really cold up there huh Jon.
