I Have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe 2DR 4WD 5.7L 350. I wondering what my engine is worth if I sold it? It only has 70,000 miles on and it is in great shape. I am going to install a 6.3L 383 stroker I bought from S&S engines. They will give me $350 for the core But I think it is worth more than that. The 383 meets all OEM specificatins but do you have an idea what other problems I may encounter on installation?THANKS

Hi!
You would be correct in thinking your motor is worth more. You should be able to get around $800 for it- depending on its condition (seal leakage, compression, damage- if any.) If you want to try selling it, throw it up on ebay. You may get what you are asking for there. Keep in mind, though, this is a common motor. It was used in a lot of the GM truck line, and this will affect what you get for it. It also depends on what you will be leaving on the motor as well. If you are going to be removing all the accesories, the injectors, and the wiring harness, you may get less for it.
You shouldn't run into any problems installing this new stroker motor in your truck. It's a real straight forward swap. You may have to change the fuel setup a little depending on the amount of horsepower you are looking for, but everything else should be an even trade.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Reply to ttiger79's Post: I think the answer took a little to long to receive. I also think I can get a little more for this 350.
