I have a 1990 cad.deville.It run good but had a bad alternator.I replaced the alternator and put in a new battery.After replacing the alternator.I started it up and it back fird.After it ran for a few min's.I turned on the lights and heater and it cut off. After starting it back up it run good until i put it in gear or turn on the lights.The next day the battery was dead.Before i put in the new alternator it ran good.It cut off or run hard.Miss.

It sounds like your charging system may still not be working. You will need to recharge the battery and test the charging system at idle with a digital voltmeter.

You should see between 13.5 and 14.8 volts with no accessories on if the charging system is working..
