The first place to check is the Battery side of the starter solenoid it is mounted on the fender.

There is a Black wire with a yellow tracer, this wire has a fusible link (kind of a fuse) Wired right into it .

It might have a little plastic tag on it, you can sometimes can be checked by tugging on the wire if it stretches it must be replaced. But you may have to check it with a voltmeter or test light to be sure.

This is the most common failure for the symptoms you are describing.

If you need further assistance please post back.

Reply to Marc's Post: Solenoid - positive side has a red/black wire and the cable to the battery on same post and a blk/rd wire that should be running to the system; negative side battery cable to the starter and a blk wire to the system - no blk/yel from the positive side. Engine was running perfectly when engine was turned off and attempt to start engine an hour later resulted in nothing. No power anywhere on vehicle.

The fusible links are all located on the positive side of the solenoid. You did not include engine size I gave schematic for 5 liter engine colors maybe slightly different but the wires are still the same electrically.

You MUST check the fusible link (see upper center of schematic). It is in one or both of those red and black wires on the starter relay- solenoid.

This wire powers everything. The whole truck is powered from the + side of the solenoid has to be either a bad connection or a burnt out fusible link coming from the + post of the solenoid
