Sent to Car Experts October 03 07:36 PM

My speedometer stays on 40 and doesn't move unless i reset it. And other times it will say i'm going 90 and when i stop it is on 40 it doesn't go to 0. What could the problem be? I also had it hooked up to the computer and they said it would have to get worse to find the problem.

You may not have any codes but I would check the speed sensor for working right.

If that is ok then you need to look at the cluster.

If you can use a scan tool and check the wheel speed.

Instrument Panel cluster. To know if its working and to run a test on it you need a scan tool.
