We have a 94 Chevy Suburban. For at least the past two months it has spuratically stalled on us while driving. There are no signs that something is wrong, it just stalls. My husband has changed the fuel pump and the fuel filter and the spark plugs. He drove it to work today and as he was going up a hill it stalled on him again. We took it to a mechanic to examine it on the diagnostic test and he hooked it up for six hours and came to a conclusion that they said there was nothing wrong with it.   A couple of the times that it stalled, he pushed it home with our other vehicle, and some of the times he jerked it and by the time we got it home and put it in park it started back up. Immediately after it stalls it acts like it wants to turn over but won't. It is a 1500 8 cylinder. It does this on an average every two weeks. Could you please help us try to figure out why this problem may be occurring?

It's most likely the 7 pin ignition module in the distributor, but what you need to do is have a combustible spray with you when it dies so you can see whether it's fuel related or spark related. When it dies and won't restart, you'll need to immediately pop the air cleaner lid off and spray some carb or brake cleaner spray in the throttle body and try starting it...if it starts and runs for a few seconds then it's fuel related...if it doesn't it's spark related and go ahead and replace the module.

You can most likely just let it run at home until it dies without going out on the road.

So do you mean that this module is inside the distributor and that if it is a bad module that it would make our vehicle just stall whenever?
