Question

Will driving with warped rotors harm my car?

Sent to Car Experts October 03, 2006 1:41 p.m.

I have a 2003 Chevy Impala with a little over 60,000 miles. Recently, the "traction active" light began to deploy at odd times, ie., when I was slowly turning right in parking lots etc. and the right front wheel also seemed to make a slight grinding sound when the light went on. I took the car to my mechanic who said it had warped rotors on all fours and that it had a defective hub bearing. I had the hub bearing fixed to the tune of 500.00 and will be picking the car up tonite to see if the "traction alive light" issue persists. My mechanic says that driving around on warped rotors will not harm my car. Is that true?

Optional Information:
2003 Chevrolet Impala V6

Already Tried:
hub bearing replacement
