My 01 Camaro "leans" to the right.
Sent to Car Experts October 02 06:15 PM

My 01 Camaro "leans" to the right. There is about 3/4" difference between the two sides and the ground. Had it checked out by two different Chevy dealers, was told it was "within Chevy spec". Nothing is broken or bent. Can you give me any ideas??
Could the body be twisted or the frame bent? Thanks for your help.

Greetings! Yes it could be! But that is not usaully the case. The only thing that controls ride hight is the coil springs. As long as nothing is holding them down than you will need to replace the springs if you want te lean fixed. The do have frame shops out there if u wanted to be sure the frame is not twisted, they can check for u.

Reply to amedee's Post: I swapped the coil springs left to right already, didn't help one bit. Any other suggestions?

When u had measured the 3/4 of an inch, are u talking about the front or the rear?

Reply to amedee's Post: It measures the same front and rear. And the measurement is from the top of the tires to the bottom of the fender and/or quarter.

Do u have luggage or anything heavy weighing that side down?

Reply to amedee's Post: No, I don't have any weight on that side. Nobody even rides with me that often in the car. The shocks tested OK and the springs too. I know this might be an impossible situation online like this because you can't see it, but I appreciate your time on this and I also upped my offer for you.

Another idea would be to try to measure it on a different suffice. Maybe the ground was not level???

What about the alignment? I know u said two different chevy dealers looked at it. But What about an independent? U could have him tweak the suspension or alignment maybe just a little and it may help!

What about the sway bar? Maybe the link pins? Could they be possibly holding the car down on one side?
