car just dies

1990 ford tarus 50,000 miles car will just die when stopping and then wont start come back hours later car will start up and go. can hear fuel pump come on when you turn key on

This is a classic example of the ignition module going bad,to check this remove the coil wire from the distributor cap and place next to the engine block and have someone turn the engine over while you watch for spark at the coil wire,no spark=replace the module(do this when the engine won't start)
