Question

On a 2002 volks jetta, where is the thermostat located

On a 2002 volks jetta, where is the thermostat located and whats the easiest way to replace it? the car seems to be overheating

I dont have a diagram for this one,but the thermostat is located in the side of the engine block.The radiator hose goes to the thermostat housing(i think it it is the top radiator hose) the housing is bolted to the engine with two bolts.Remove the two bolts and the thermostat housing along with the o-ring seal and thermostat,reverse the procedure to install.
