2004 Impala, the heater on the driver side is blowing cold ...
Sent to Car Experts September 30 12:34 AM

2004 Impala, the heater on the driver side is blowing cold air but the passenger side is blowing hot air. Inside the vehicle on the dual control the light on the driver side is not lit up any longer, only on the passenger side. Could this be a fuse or what could be wrong?

Hi tracy and sorry it took so long to get you an answer. As for the light not working on one side it is not a fuse because the same fuse powers both sides. As for the temperature control issues it is not uncommon for the controller to go bad. that is the part in the center that switches everything. the light on the drivers side being out is just a coincedence and not proof that it has gone bad but based on experience I would definately start there first.

Reply to C.J.'s Post: I just want to make sure I understand. What is the controller? When you say in the center, in the center of the inside of the car? I don't quite understand. When I take in into the shop what do I need to have them check out. Is that something electrical or does it have another name. Sorry for all the questions I just don't quite understand.

No problem. The controller is the part in the center of the dash where the driver would adjust the temperature, fan speed etc.
