Question

1995 Camry 4-cyl rattle

Sent to Car Experts September 28, 2006 7:26 p.m.

What would cause a rattling noise in the engine of my 1995 Camry 4 cylinder? It's not constant. After the car sits for a while, and/or is driven on city streets, I don't hear anything. It only seems to start after a short time on the highway, but then continues.

Optional Information:
1995 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder

Already Tried:
2 oil changes - now using 5W-30 oil.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Very common for timing belt/water pump to rattle. Belt is loose/stretched or water pump bearing worn.
