There are a couple of very important things to check when replacing the fuel pump on these car. Always use a good quality pump like and a/c delco. Then you need to make sure all of the wiring is in great shape. If there is any corrosion or contamination on the pump wires or even the relay that will cause too high of a amp draw which will overheat the pump. Also make sure the fuel filters are replaced. I have seen a few of these covettes have more than one fuel filter so make sure the fuel lines are traced for any additional possibly clogged filters. Let me know what you find.

Reply to BOBBY's Post: everything is in good shape there is no corrosion and there is only one fuel filter we used a high quality fuel pump that lasted a couple of days then we got a new stock pump and that seemed to work best but a couple of weeks later that died as well
