It is all internal to the radio, the stereo would need to be replaced. The dealerships sublet the repairs to radio technicians, but they would wind up replacing the unit.

Reply to Gene's Post: Duh! I already new the radio needed to be replaced but it is after midnight and I am concerned the car will be dead again by morning. What I need to know is how to get the radio to turn off in the meantime! Is there a fuse or such that I can disconnect until I am able to get to a mechanic?

There are multiple fuses for the radio, the easiet thing to do is just disconnectthe battery overnight.
