Yes, the noise was there before using the synthetic oil. They changed the oil for me when I bought the car at 4000 miles.. They used a 5-20 regular petrolium oil. Since I put the mobile 1 oil in the noise is still there when starting in the morning and tics for about 3 minutes and slowly quiets down... Is this normal for these engines, I know they have big lifters in them.

The car has 5,575 miles on it now. I also have a noisy rear end between 60-64 miles an hours and also at 40-42 miles an hours.

Hi Gene, my Vin number on the bird is

1FAHP60A23Y114006 I forgot to mention to you that the first Buyer of this vehicle sent this car back to Ford I guess under the lemmon law but the car fax was fine, From what I heard she sent it back because the car was leaking thru the windows and roof, I keep it in the Garage all the time so I don't know if it leaks, won't take it out in bad weather, but when I wash it it does not leak. I know her name but cannot seem to locate her.. Customer (name blocked for privacy)

I do not see any known concerns for an engine noise except for it stating you must use 91 or higher octance to prevent spark knock or engine knocking noises. I would think you have a lifter noise in the engine, it should not last 10 minutes, however it may be longer if you do not run the engine frequently. As for the rear end noise I would need more explanation of the type of noise. This should all be under base warranty if you have less than 36 K on it.
