Running out of gas in my car

I ran out of gas in my 2003 Yukon GMC. I have put about 4 to 5 gallons of gas in the tank but it still does not start. When I turn the ignition, I can hear something click in the engine (yes, I am a complete car engine idiot) but it doesn't even really turn over. It's behaving like it has a completely dead battery - which it definitely does not. Is my fuel pump dead? Are there any trouble shooting options I can try before I have it towed?

Put five gallons in the tank. Checked some fuses.
