Recently I purchased a replacment side view mirror for my 2000 volkswagon golf TDI. I cannot figure out how to remove the existing mirror. Please advise how I can do this so I can have a safe side view from the driver's side of my car. I can be reached at XXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX

2000 Volkswagen golf TDI 1.8 diesel

Already Tried:
I've tried to pry the inside screen off to gain access from the inside in order to remove existing mirror I am leary as it is very tight and I am not sure if it is a snap fit or screwed on.
