wiring diagram for 1992 tempo
Sent to Car Experts September 17 10:37 AM

battery tested good. car will not start. I just changed the solenoid and cleaned the corrosion off the battery using baking soda. Is it possible that in doing so some of the connections got even more corroded and are not making good contact? What should I check first?

Optional Information:

Already Tried:
tested battey=good, cleaned off battery posts w/wire brush & terminals to battery & changed solenoid

It's very common to have connection problems at the eyelet type connections at both the solenoid and the starter and it's really not visible. Remove all the cables and wire brush both the cable end and the terminal.

If that doesn't work, there is a problem elsewhere in the starting circuit. Test for power arriving at the small wire at the solenoid with the key in "start" position.

Reply to Hammer Time's Post: How do you test for power at the small wire on the solenoid? Is there some sort of fuse that can be checked or could this simply be a case of poor connection based on how it happened?
