My stereo in my Monte Carlo.

I got the unlock code and unlocked my stereo, after the battery change, but now it goes up at it's loudest just by touching it, or if it runs over a bump , it's just up to the highest, or you have to keep turning it for a long time to get it down, and by then I am deaf, it's a 1997 Monte Carlo, and the place I got it tuned up and a new battery, put it on loc, so I had to pay for the question and the unlock code, and now the thing won't play normal, can you please help me. Thanks so much.

I have a chevy Monte carlo, I had a tunup and battery put in it, the radio went on lock, so I paid you guys for the answer, and I paid for the unlock code, but now the raido goes up to it's hightest point for no reason, it is very bad, and the control on the steering wheel goes up if you just touch it, and I mean to the highest point. I just need to know what is wrong with my stereo.

Try Unplugging the Steering Wheel Control Unit first.
It is somewhat Typical of that Radio to have Volume Control problems as you describe, but prior to condemning Radio I would want to make sure it is Not the Control Unit on the Steering Wheel

Reply to Lurch's Post: It isn't the sterring wheel, cause if I tough the up volumn on the radio, it does the same thing, it was working normal, till I had the tune up and battery put in, now it is just crazy, I can't turn it down for nothing, it just comes right back up, even if car is sitting still.
