Question

65 Mustang running Hot

Sent to Car Experts September 09, 2006 10:33 a.m.

My mustang is always reading hot (on the H) after about 30 minutes. I used an infrared temp gun on my radiator and it registered 215+, that can't be the proper temperature for a radiator. Does it need to be replaced or will flushing it fix the problem?

Optional Information:
Pre-1981 Ford Mustang 289 V8

Already Tried:
replaced the thermostat

I need a little info here, are you getting flow through the radiator? Are both radiator hoses hot,is the fan shroud in place?

Chances are that flushing will not help, especially if the radiator is the original.Suggest replacing the radiator,Get the heavy duty radiator if available. It's a good up grade
