Transmission Assembly Problem

Sent to Car Experts September 04 04:26 PM

I was changing some solenoid valves in my 2000 BMW Z3 transmission. While taking down the valve block, I dropped three ball bearings that were inside the valve block grooves. I was wondering if I can get help by providing me of some kind of illustration or pictorial view of the location of these ball bearings inside those grooves. I have the exploded picture of the Z3 transmission internal parts, but somehow these ball bearings were not shown. I also tried seeking help from the BMW, but they don't have any technical support. So I tried this site to see if hopefully I can get some help from any of you. I can be contacted at My e-mail address at jroXXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX.

Reply to GENE's Post: Yes, My Fax number is 310-252-7975. I want to see it first before I will accept. Cause it may not contain the info. that I need. All I care are the location of those ball bearings in those valve grooves. I want a pictorial view. If you have the right info. I will accept it and if it's the original picture or illustration from the manual, I will even triple your service fee. Thank you very much!

Hello Gene,

Yes. It's the right info. But, one more question if you don't mind on the second illustration or photo. It shows only the ball bearing number 2 and number 3 from the main valve body. Where is the third located? From the first photo it is very difficult to see. Can you please fax me another copy and just mark or encircle with a pen where the third ball bearing is located in the main valve body. Also, I will triple your fee as I promised as it is the right info. Please tell me also how to do that from the "Just Answer" site. Thank you very much, again!

Hello Gene,

I have not receive you response yet as to the location of the third ball valve. Actually, it is the first ball valves as indicated in the picture. The photo you faxed me is hard to visualized the location. Can you please fax me a clear copy showing the location of the first ball valve. The second and third are clearly shown from the photo of the main valve body and I don't have a problem for those. Only the first ball. Please kindly help me on this one. Thank you !

Reply to GENE's Post: Gene,

I still cannot clearly see the location of the first ball valve from the second copy that you send (page 2 photo). Do you think you can just make a sketch or point it with an arrow from the picture. Sorry if I have requested you so much. Thanks again.

Reply to GENE's Post: Gene,

Sorry. Still unclear even with the blow-up. I think this is due to the resolution of the fax. Do you think you can just draw that small portion whenever it is possible and fax it to me. If everything still turn out to be unclear, I will probably just get hold of you on the phone.

Thanks.
