I have a 1977 Olds Vista Cruiser Wagon with a bad motor, a 350 Olds. I have a 350 chevy vortec out of a 90 impala police car with a 700r4, and another small block chevy motor. I would like to put one of the chevy motors in the olds. Any suggestions???

ACCEPTED Check Mark

It can be done you will have to locate correct motor mount and if your wanting to do fuel injection then either custom fab or alter a harness. If you wnat to do carbed then it will require a intake for the 90 heads. The 700r4 will have to be used due to different bell housing pattern than the olds 350. Also check with your local emission laws to verify what they require. Most of the time you must match the emmission of what ever is newest the engine or the car. It will be some work but should be able to be done with mostly stock componets. For motor mount you should be able to get everything from a chevy full size and bolt them into the olds frame. now as for the trans crossmember you may have to custom fab/alter something there since the 700r4 wasn't available back in the 70s but one out of a mids 80s might work. I few trips to a junk yard with a tape measure may be required.

good luck.

Tim
