on my 2000 chevrolet silverado 2500 4 wheel drive the vehicles a/c system has been acting up by when the system is turned on it blows out cold air until you accelerate or decellerate. then it begins to blow warm air. i opened the system to replace the orfice tube thinking that that was the problem but it didnt fix it. i put a guage set on the system and on the low pressure side its pulsing as the compressor kicks on and off, and showing a high pressure, and on the high side its not showing much pressure at all. what do you think?

Optional Information:
2000 Chevrolet silverado 6.0

Already Tried:
replaced the orfice tube, and evacuated the system

Kinda sounds like the compressor clutch is slipping if it happens when accel or decelerating. Then you say you have weird pressures. It will pulse on and off if you have low refrigerent in the system.

i also replaced the clutch cycling switch. the air coming from the vents smell like ice after it starts getting warm. you can turn the a/c off and back on but it doesnt change anything.

I bet the compressor clutch is faulty/worn etc..

It's pretty common and you can replace it on the truck usually. It's like a tranny clutch for the compressor. The clutch may have worn down enough to cause the "air gap" to be out of spec and the electro magnet can't pull it in anymore.
