We just put an engine ina 91 Maxima. Engine was run tested before install. Now the injectors are not firing. We used the injectors and distributor from the original engine. I have fuel to the injectors and have fire. Car runs great on a steady stream of ether. I have a parts yard and we have swapped ECM's and distributors but cannot get the inj to fire. Any help??

Optional Information:
1991 Nissan Maxima 3.0 SOHC

Already Tried:
Different ECM, different distributor

REPLIED Check Mark

The 'trigger' for the injectors comes from the ECU itself, therfore if you have +12v on one terminal of each injector connector, then the ECU must not be receiving proper power and ground to operate. Does the Check Engine Lamp illuminate when the key is turned ON? Also, test the injector pulse with an inexpensive Noid Lamp, which you can purchase at most parts suppliers.

Do you have a volt meter for testing?

Hi Rip. Thanks. Not sure if the check engine light is on. The injectors have been checked with a noid light. They are not firing We can manually make them fire by putting juice to them. I wasn't sure if the ECM or the distributor fired the injectors. I will check the ground to the ECM in the AM. I will let you know. Thanks again.

REPLIED Check Mark

If they are not firing with a Noid Lamp, we need to verify if the Check Engine Lamp illuminates when the key is turned ON. If it doesn't this means the power or ground to the computer is interupted.

Hey Rip. The check engine light is on when the key is on. We let the car idle on ether and the light went out. Any other ideas??
