I have an Impala SS and the odometer light is out. It does come back on ocassionally until I turn the car off and come back and start it again later. The price someone wants to fix this is outrageous. Can you help. Also my engine light wont go off...I've had it to two repair shops and they can't get it off either. The car has 165000 miles on it and they attribute the light to that as nothing is wrong with the engine.

Have the codes read out at AutoZone. There are obviously fault codes in there and they will tell you a story!!

yeah, sorry!

It is probably a loose connection which requires a lot of dash dismantling to get to for a 2 minute repair, and most of the cost will be labour.

I have the exact same problem with my own car and have had the problem for a long while now. I am just leaving it as it does not actually bother me that much.

I would shop around for quotes if you really want it fixed because someone will do it cheap just to get your business.
