2000 dodge caravan

i have a 2000 dodge caravan, at time white smoke is coming out of a small threaded hole located to what seems to be the bell housing of the transmission i looked in haynes repair book couldnt find anything is this a overflow maybe for transmission fluid? if its a sensor advance has no record of one that goes their. is it supposed to be plugged it is threaded... please help!
