Question

On a 2001 Chevrolet Impala, the electronic

Sent to Car Experts August 19, 2006 1:19 p.m.

On a 2001 Chevrolet Impala, the electronic information center display on the dash indicates "low tire pressure". No matter what I do to correct this, according to info in the owners manual, nothing works, the incorrect information continues. Also, just recently, the turn signal system, fails to "click" and the left and right monitor lights in the dash go out, intermittantly. Upon restarting the engine, the turn signals work properly for a while.
I suspect the turn signal system may be built into the electronic computer system.
I was unable to locate the usual style of "plug in" clicker, used in past years. The click
noise seems to originate in the instrument cluster. Any ideas?

Optional Information:
2001 Chevrolet Impala V6 3400

Already Tried:
read all of owner's manual, search under dash for "clicker"

I think I was asking 2 questions as one. Start over--on a 2001 Chevrolet Impala, where is the location of the turn signal "clicker" and can it be replaced. After driving for a few minutes, the "clicker" stops and turn signals stop flashing. 30 minutes later, start the car and signals function OK for another 10 minutes or so.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

The turn signals and emergency flashers are both controlled electronically.
The module is behind the emergency flasher switch and requires partial disassemble of the dash to access it.

Remove 2 screws on the ends under the fuse covers.
Remove 2 screws on the panel under the steering wheel.
Remove 2 screws by the odometer.
Gently pull the face off the dash. Don't break off the clips.
Module is behind Panel.
