We have a 2000 chevy cavalier manual 2.2l it had a hole in the gas tank we swapped the tank out and the fuel filter and after driving car for 15 mins it bogs down and dies you then can't restart the car after this happens until car cools down . We can however pop the clutch if the car is still rolling and it takes off. I am at wits end with this car anyone had any similar problem like this please help I am dissabled and have very little money to take into shop thanks.

Already Tried:
fuel filter new plugs wires coil packs etc can also hear air leak car idles at 1000 rpm in neutral

Greetings! I would rec to check fuel pressure. Fuel injected cars are very fuel pressure sensitive. Fuel pressure is very important and must be within specifications! U can get a fuel pressure gauge at a local auto parts store for cheap. Good luck let me know.

I would rec to check fuel pressure. Fuel injected cars are very fuel pressure sensitive. Fuel pressure is very important and must be within specifications! Your fuel pump may be heating up and slowing down causing u to loose fuel pressure. U can get a fuel pressure gauge at a local auto parts store for cheap. Good luck let me know.
