Question

Dodge Durango wont stay running

Sent to Car Experts August 14, 2006 10:14 a.m.

I have a 99 Dodge Durango and i have latle been having two problems with it. The first no matter how much gass is in it everyonce in a while when starting the gas gauge will read empty and the gas light will come on..... if you turn it off and back on it sometimes will "reset" and read the proper amount of gas. Dodge has no idea what can cause this it has been in the shop twice for it. The Second problem i am having is when i go to start the truck it sounds like the battery is weak and when it starts as long as my foot is on the gas it will run soon as i take my foot off the gas it will stall. The battery and alternator have been check and they are in good condition i also replaced the battery cables because i thought that could be it. The problem is it doesn't do it all the time and everytime i take it to Dodge it is fine.....it will eventally start working normal after a period of time and the lights all becoame bright again and all is good. If you have any ideas what could be wrong it would be greatly apreciated... I have heard of other Doges with this problem but never found out how they fixed it.
