I am looking into buying a 5 speed 1986 Ford Ranger 4x4, the current owner
describes the issues that need to be addressed as follow:
"The 5 speed transmission has some pilot bearing noise. It still shifts ok,
but I have a feeling it will need to be rebuilt some time in the near future.
The big thing is that something is going on with the fuel computer and it
runs rough after the truck warms up. It did just pass emissions however.
It could be something as simple as a bad ground or needing a new engine
wiring harness for the injectors.

Does this sound like something that is fixable by a pretty handy husband or am
I looking at something more involved?
