How do I fix a thermostat on a 1988 Pomtiac Sunbird?

I have a 2-door 1988 Pontiac Sunbird Turbo with a Manual Transmisson, 2.0 liter. I have been experiencing problems with my cooling system. I believe the problem to be my Thermostat in my radiator, but I'm not sure. I have plenty of coolant and my car manual says that my water pump is connected to my camshaft, so if the car starts my water pump is working. I belive my fans are working properly as well. The problem could also be that coolant is not properly being sucked into the engine properly.

Optional Information:
1988 Pontiac Sunbird 2.0l Turbo

Already Tried:
Manually putting coolant in the radiator, adding/removing coolant, checking fan belts.
