i have a 1999 Chevy Silverado pick-up- my problem is with my ac system. not blowing cold air. I brought it to a mechanic who said the compressor was shot and needed to be replaced as well as flush the system etc... to the tune of $1000. How do i know or can tell if the compressor is truly not operating as intended? it still seems to be "turning on" ?
