Question

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT with the 5.0l engine and 4 wheel drive, 95,000 miles. My overdrive button does not work (car stays in overdrive and no light comes on). I went to the dealer to get the switch for the end of the column, but all that is available for my year is the whole lever, with the switch and wiring harness included, and it was only a little over $40.00. So I got it and installed it right away, and the problem still persists. What else can I do? Thanks!!

Thanks for the question.

Is there any other electrical device not working?

Did you check the fuses inside and out? You could have a blown fuse.

On the old lever, did you see any shorts in the wiring? It plugged into the electrical connector ok?

Thanks
