electrical issues
Sent to Car Experts August 02 09:02 AM

I have a 1999 ford f350 super duty crew cab, dually diesel. If the truck sits unused for several days, sometimes as little as 4 the batteries drain. I have replaced the batteries twice in the past year. One tech told me I had a draw from the factory radio and elec brake control. Replaced both items and the batteries in may. Truck sat for 7 days in July would not start, ford tells me I have a bad battery yet when tested they both test fine. Electric door lock button on Driver side works backwards, ie; when i push unlock it locks and pushing lock unloks it. There is a stackable cd player under rear seat i have unpplugged, and an after market security system in the vehicle. The sec system operates sporadically at best, should i eliminate this from the system. any help will be appreciated cause the techs havent been able to locate a problem. Also when attempting to charge batteries the driver side accept carge must faster when the pass side batt is disconectted. I had both batts tested 3 days ago and both show as being good,. could I put a "Batt Disconnect or Kill Switch" in vehicle which I could turn off after using truck? Thanks
