vibration
Sent to Car Experts July 31 08:56 PM

I own a 2002 nissan frontier, have a vibration at 25 mph, 45 mph, and 65 mph. Had frontend alignment and 4 new tires balanced and installed. removed tires three times to rebalance, the vibration lessened but did not go away. they now tell me it could be the drive shaft out of balance, if the drive shaft was out of balance would it not vibrate all the time?

Optional Information:
2002 Nissan frontier reg 6 cyl

Already Tried:
new tires alignment

Reply to Lurch's Post: My frontier is two wheel drive. It does shift at 25 mph and 45 mph, but I don't think it shifts at 65 mph

I would want to check for a Bent Rim first. Although they Balanced Tires, a Bent Rim does not always show up, unless they used a Power machine to Balance.
If O.K.
The Drive Shaft & U Joints would be a logical step.
The Vibration would NOT be there all the time, if the Drive Shaft was the problem. It would depend on the Harmonic Balance at certain Speeds.

You may want to take it to a Reputable Shop that Deals in Drive Line problems. A Vibration can be caused from Wheels, Drive Train, Transmission, Engine, & Components touching Frame.
