2001, Toyota Tacoma, when to get rid of?
Sent to Car Experts July 30 02:24 PM

Hello,
I have a 2001,Toyota Tacoma xtnd cab, 4 wheel drive, TRD off road package vehicle. It has a 3.5 litre engine. It has 71,000 miles. I bought it from new. I have had all regular services. I have had no problems whatsoever. I have had nothing replaced except tires and anything they replace during normal services. I am very happy with the vehicle. My question is: Is there a general mileage when things will start to fail and need expensive replacement, such as transmission or any other big items? Can you give me some idea when I ought to thing about trading it in for a new vehicle. Will it be good for example, 100,000 miles? Or should I get rid of it before then.
Thanks

depending on your maint. habits, when they design a vehicle, they do it with a 150,000 miles in mind.if your picky about maintanence you shouldn't have any major problems to that point.Toyotas are one of the best vehicles on the road.i have 3 customers with 200,000 plus on their toyotas.still running strong with the original running gears in them.
