Question

Corsa Engine problem

Sent to Car Experts July 28, 2006 7:52 a.m.

I have a 1998 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2i DOCH, 80,000 miles. Engine starts & runs fine except under load/highish revs when at first pinking occurs, this seems to then smooth out followed by some loss of power and engine management light comes on. The weired thing is that the light goes of when coming of the gas! Diagnosis comes up with oxygen sensor(exhaust gases rich/lean). Spark plugs show normal. Piston heads look dirty which is possible reason for the pinking. Have carried out engine flush, new spark plugs and fuel filter. Dosn't seem to be any air leaks. Any ideas?
